OCTOBER 1ST LAUNCH PARTY
It’s the club night which has caused monthly queues around the block at Mission in Leeds. It’s the party which has torn up the stages at Leeds Love Parade and the terraces of Space in Ibiza, and it’s the night which is consistently voted “Best Club in the North” by Mixmag. Now the unstoppable house party, Kissdafunk is coming to Newcastle.
From Saturday 01 October, 2005, Kissdafunk is taking up a monthly residency every first weekend of the month at the fabulous Foundation Club in Newcastle’s city centre.
Whether it’s the music policy which blends the best of contemporary house played by the best djs in the land, the maelstrom of glammed-up girls and boys who aren’t afraid to let their hair down, the beautiful KDF girls, or the friendly energetic personalities of the DJs - we just don’t know why it’s so popular. All we are certain of his that after its humble beginnings 20 months ago, it is one of the clubbing success stories of the past couple of years- and now it’s Newcastle’s turn to get a piece of the action.
Headlining the launch will be the international house pairing of Lee Cabrera. The duo consisting of Steve Lee and Albert Cabrera have taken their grooves right across the globe working with artists from Layo and Bushwacka to Madonna and enjoying residencies in Ibiza, New York, Washington and San Francisco. Their single 'Shake it’ was a huge favourite with every dj from PETE TONG, DANNY TENAGLIA through to ERICK MORILLO. This will be a rare appearance to the North East and one not to be missed as they are undoubtedly one of the most entertaining acts on the circuit today.
Joining them with be the legendary KDF co-founder and resident, the one and only Rob Tissera who will slice and dice his way through today’s most cutting-edge house flavours. Whether its upfront funksters, electech grooves, Jackin’ beats, vocal stormers or chunky futuristic acid house it doesn’t matter, if it’s good, it gets played - that's the policy. Local djheroes will be completing the line-up to give you so much fun you won’t ever want to go home. Well, it is a launch party after all.
